Beauty And The Beast - Diamond Edition (3D), produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and co-directed by Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale, is an all- time favorite of the young and old alike. It's the 30th film of the Walt Disney Animated Classics Collection. This Disney movie has been selected to be preserved in the National Film Registry. This is the first animated movie to be nominated by the Academy Awards for the Best Picture. The story demonstrates the relationship between a young maiden named Belle and an ugly Beast. The story begins, when a sorceress, disguised as an old beggar pleads a young prince to give her shelter in his palace, in return of a flower. The prince, egoistically, refuses and shuns the witch. The annoyed witch, curses the prince and turns him into a horrendous beast and his servants into household items. The witch presents him a flower and asks him to earn love before the last petal sheds to get his original form back. On the other hand, there is a damsel, Belle, who is very fond of reading. She is an unconventional thinker and is, therefore, not liked by many except her dad, Maurice and a strong, muscular hunter named Gaston. Gaston tries to woo Belle but without any success. One day, Maurice and his horse Philip, go to the forest and are lost there. While finding their way out, they come across the Beast's castle, where Maurice is detained by the Beast. Philip brings Belle to the Castle, where father and daughter swap places, after a lot of resentment from Maurice. This act brings the beauty and the beast together and this is how the relationship between the beauty and the beast begins to develop. Initially, Belle would avoid the Beast's company but things change for better. In the meanwhile, continuous dejection from Belle makes Gaston furious and he starts projecting his evil ideas. Beauty And The Beast - Diamond Edition (3D) was released by Disney Studios in Blu-Ray format. With a runtime of 85 minutes, it has been rated with a U certificate.
